Considering an On-Site Shed Build?

If we’re unable to deliver a fully assembled shed to your property, an on-site shed build may be the perfect solution. The Barnyard offers on-site shed construction in Grand Junction and surrounding areas, ensuring you can still get the shed you need—built right where you need it.

Before scheduling an on-site build, review the information below to help determine if this option is right for you. We’ve also included videos for reference.

Site Access & Preparation Requirements:

Ensure your site is ready for shed installation. Proper site preparation is essential, so please confirm there’s enough space for the building and a clear, accessible path for our team to carry in pre-built shed walls and floor sections.

If your yard has a fence, ensure there is at least a 3-foot wide gate opening to allow shed walls, flooring, and equipment to pass through. Please note, The Barnyard is not responsible for removing or modifying fences for access during on-site shed builds.

Since shed walls and floors are usually pre-assembled, please ensure there is enough space around corners and tight areas to allow for wide turns during your on-site shed build.

lear and easy site access is essential for on-site shed construction. Trim back trees, remove low-hanging branches and shrubbery, and move items like grills, swing sets, firewood, and vehicles. Ensure a clear path for our builders—and don’t forget to clean up any pet waste before your scheduled build.

All sheds must be placed at least 3 feet from the property line to meet standard zoning requirements. If your property is part of a homeowners association (HOA), be sure to review their specific setback rules. It is your responsibility to obtain HOA approval before installation.

Ensure there is access to a standard 120-volt power outlet at the build site, as electricity is required during your on-site shed construction.

Wet weather can impact our ability to deliver your portable building. If your yard is too wet for delivery, please contact us before your scheduled delivery. We do not repair yards, so use your judgment to determine if the ground is firm enough for delivery.

We do not offer blocking services. To ensure proper installation of your portable building, please prepare a level concrete or gravel pad. We recommend a pad that is level within 4 inches for optimal placement.

You are responsible for obtaining all necessary permits (if applicable). Please contact your local town or county offices for permit requirements.
